Dear
brothers/sisters:
As
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh
The
Almighty Lord of the World graced us with the ability to continue our spiritual
monthly newsletters and messages, Shukr Wa-AlHamdulillah. However, the number of
e-mail messages has increased very rapidly and continue coming through
individuals and groups. Thank you for all your suggestions, encouragement and
your willingness to continue receiving such religious and spiritual Islamic
messages. For those who are interested in receiving the monthly free newsletter,
please inform us, please send us a complete address if you want to receive it
through the mail, otherwise, you may read it through our website or send us your
e-mail and we will Insha’Allah, e-mail the newsletter to you. Also, our
special thanks and appreciation to all who took the time to forward these
messages from their e-mail accounts, and also to those who are interested to be
one amongst us, or who informed us about the change of their e-mail addresses,
and we kindly request from those who sent us e-mail addresses of others to
ensure that the latter are interested in receiving our messages. Otherwise,
please directly circulate our messages among your own circles of acquaintances.
Masha’Allah,
Netsite Inc. donated the cost for our website (www.kufa.org) and for the e-mail accounts. Our thanks to the
family from New York who own this company. Insha’Allah, this website will
improve our activities, particularly
our Dawah program, as well as help to reduce the time for our e-mailing and
facilitate our monthly messages and related correspondences. May Allah (Subhanahu
Wa Ta’Ala) reward them, and increase His gifts to them with His blessings,
Ameen.
As
we mentioned before, there is a land close to the expressway in Roanoke. The
size of it is one acre with two
buildings. The price is $375,000.00. Also, there are three tracts of land in
Roanoke 4, 3, and 35 acres, two of them at Interstate spur, and the third one at
the Interstate. The price is approximately $125,000.00, $95,000.00, and
$50,000.00/acre, respectively. All of these properties are visible from the
Interstate. Insha'Allah, our brothers and sisters will donate to establish our
Center at one of these sites. “It is they who are truly guided.” May Allah (Subhanahu
Wa Ta’Ala) bless our planning efforts with a successful outcome, Ameen. Nabiy
Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Waalihi Wasalam) said,“He who builds a mosque for
the sake of Allah, Allah will build a house for him in paradise."
For
the Momineen and Mominaat who donated toward the purchase of land for the
Center, and/or support the Center, may Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’Ala) gift them
houses in Heaven, Ameen. Insha’Allah, those who donated toward a place for
Center, we will publish their donations in the future.
The
monthly prayer time-table, Insha’Allah will be posted in KCIK’s website for each month and we encourage our readers,
especially chaplains/officers of any institution to print the prayer time-table
and distribute it to inmates in their facility. Insha’Allah, the Center will
try to post the monthly Salat time-table for other locations and/or lands.
Nabiy Muhammad (Sallallahu
Alayhi Waalihi Wasalam) said,“Salat is the coolness of my eyes.” Our special
thanks to you all, and may Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’Ala) reward those who serve
Him, Ameen.
Individuals
having Internet access may visit KCIK’s
website for more information about the activities of the Center. If you wish to
submit Islamic questions, we will Insha’Allah try to seek an answer. We kindly
request complete quotations or references if possible. For those who would like
to use the publications of the AL-KUFA
Newsletter or our posted material on the website of the Center for some useful
purpose, you are welcome to do so, but please quote this source to avoid
copyright infringements. Please also try to contact other Islamic Institutions
for help because many special requests are beyond our capacity. Finally, we
welcome any articles you would like us to consider for publication. All
articles, letters, Islamic questions, etc. that are sent will become the
property of KCIK and will not be
returned to senders. Those who sent or will send articles to be published,
please send us full titles and addresses with telephone numbers. We cannot
guarantee that an article or letter will be published in a particular issue of
the AL-KUFA Newsletter and/or the
monthly messages due to space limitations. We also reserve the right to do any
necessary editing. Articles signed represent the author's opinion and not
necessarily the opinion of the administration and/or staff of KCIK,
or the Editors of the AL-KUFA
Newsletter and/or the monthly messages.
And
for those are ill. We have them in our Dua’as and in our hearts. May Allah (Subhanahu
Wa Ta’Ala) grant our requests to ease their lives. O Lord, accept our Dua’a,
Ameen.
There
are other human beings who are harassed, abused, tortured and murdered, and who
suffer at the hands of those who are ignorant of the basic principles of
humanity, while promoting themselves as leaders and saviors of the land and/or
community. Such innocent ones, especially the children, women and older men,
suffer hardships having committed no crime. It is the responsibility for those
who lead (administrations of governments, judicial systems, educational
institutions, executive authorities as well as individuals) to achieve peace and
to implement justice to all. Any kind of injustice should be eradicated and no
innocent individual should be punished. There is peace in remembering Allah (Subhanahu
Wa Ta’Ala) and worshipping Him. Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’Ala) loves nothing
better than that His servants ask from Him. The Glorious Qur'an
says,"Verily, with (every) difficulty (there) is ease (relief)." 94:6
For
those who are interested in marriage, we hope that they will Insha'Allah choose
the right way of seeking a partner according to the law of Islam. If you have a
matrimonial advertisement, or wish to be involved with a group meeting, be a
member of KCIK or seeking
professional opportunities or participate in KCIK activities, please visit KCIK’s
website or contact the Center.
Those
who are in difficulties, as well as those facing hardships and in need, please
repeat [(Inna Lillah Wa Inna Ilaihi
Raji-oon) (We belong to Allah and to
Him we will return)]. The Center is open to anyone in need. For those who
work in human aid, please remember the needy Muslims brothers and sisters in
many lands. We pray for all to be guided along the right path, Ameen. The
Glorious Qur'an says,"Perhaps my Lord will guide me in the right
path." 38:22
We
extend our sincere thanks to all who contacted the Center to know about Islamic
Centers and/or Mosques in certain cities. Insha’Allah, we will be able to
provide them with this information. Also, for those who asked questions, we will
Insha’Allah give the best advice
according to the
Glorious Qur'an and the Sunnah.
Jazak Allah Khair for
sharing with us. O’ Lord, guide us to the right path, Islam, Ameen. The
Glorious Qur'an says,“Remembrance of Allah certainly brings comfort to all
hearts.” 13:28
Our
brothers and sisters started their e-mails with the Name of
Allah,“BISM-ILLAH-IR-RAHMAN-lR-RAHIM” and their greetings,“Assalamu
Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh”, and they ended their letters with the
greeting,“Wa Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh.” Dear fellow
Muslims, please also ensure that if you send us e-mail messages and files, that
they are virus-free. Please read the e-mail you receive before you forward it
from your account to others. It is very difficult for us to cope with such
problems and disruptions.
A
sister wrote: We are having a conflict in our masjid regarding the curtain. We
are in a masjid that currently has no curtain/barrier between the men and the
women. As far as I know, not having
a curtain/barrier between men and women is the sunnah of the Prophet (saw), but
there are influential members of the community who are insisting we put up a
curtain. As far as I know the
practice of the Prophet (saw) was to have men at the front, children next and
women behind, with no curtain/barrier. There
is no curtain in the masjid al-Haram - if a woman arrives late to prayer and
there is a curtain she cannot know where the Imam is, i.e. in rukuah, sujud,
etc., so she cannot know how to
join the prayer. If the Imam makes
mistakes in his prayer, the fiqh instructs that she clap her hands to correct
him, how can she do that if she is behind a curtain?
I
urgently need some scholarly opinions about this matter (no personal opinions
please). Also, I’d appretiate it if anyone could forward this email to a
scholar and ask him to respond as soon as possible. (There will be a community
meeting in a few days to decide, and I don't want us to vote on this issue of
shariah without having proper scholarly opinions to guide us.) May Allah guide
the ummah.
A
request for prayers:
As
you all know, messages are often sent out to request prayers for people around
the world. At this time, I would
like to make a humble request for help from all of our youth.
One of our own needs us now, our brother who has been battling cancer for
some time now and he has reached a point where he needs our help with prayers.
Please, even if it is only for a short moment, take the time to recite a
dua or Surah-Yasin for brother. He
has been an avid supporter of the youth of this community.
He has believed that all of you can make a difference, please let us all
believe that Allah (SWT) can help him in this difficult time. Thank you for your
time.
I
receive your newsletter, although I am non-Muslim. I also graduated with a B.A.
in Islamic Studies. I have had one year of Arabic language study, and will
Insha’Allah begin my second year at graduate school in the fall. In the summer
in between I am seeking a native speaker of Arabic to act as a tutor to meet
with once a week. (I do not care which dialect). I would be willing to pay an
hourly rate, and would be happy to trade Arabic conversation for English if
someone so wishes. If you have any contacts who might be suitable, or know where
I might better advertise for an Arabic tutor, could you please let me know.
Thank you so much for your time.
A
group that is suffering most from this lack of Islamic resources is the one
represented by the youth. Our environment is being jeopardized by intrusive
media, media that destroys the thinking and limits the mental capacity of the
individual. Again the youth are suffering from these enigmas which are being
amplified by the lack of alternative media. May the peace and blessings of Allah
be with you.
I
have read with great interest your message of 6/16/00, Rasul. All of the
information was great but I must point out that your quote from the Glorious
Qur'an, Al-Maidah 5, verse 67,"(O Our Rasool Muhammad!) Deliver thou what
hath been sent unto thee from thy Lord; and if thou dost it not, you have not
then (it will be as if) thou hast not delivered His message (at all); and surely
will Allah protect thee from (the mischief) of men; Verily, Allah guideth not
infidel people." This great
ayah was revealed to Rasul Allah (S.A.W.W) just after the last piligrimage when
he was passing thru the place of Ghadeer-e-Khom. You might very well know the
great historical event that we celebrate on 18th of Zil Hajj. I hope you will
correct your message accordingly because this great ayah is the centerpiece of
Wilayat-e- Ali Ibn Abi Talib.
I
appreciated your comments regarding asking high level government officials to
tell us why they continue to support policies that create so much harm,
destruction, and death. In the end,
however, we regard personal experience as our best means to communicate with
people who may otherwise remain unaffected by the sufferings people endure.
Gandhi was asked, toward the end of his life, what counsel he would give to
humankind if he could just set truth and nonviolence aside for a moment.
He replied that he was sorry, that he couldn't put truth and nonviolence
aside even for a moment, but if he could say anything else, he would urge people
to live simply. We believe that the conditions under which people have been
forced to live are not simple, but are rather miserable. They face economic
warfare and bombardment -- these are conditions degrading to the human spirit
and against all values which the human community has come to accept and
acknowledge as necessary to civilized life. But we also believe that we have
allowed ourselves to be so seduced by conveniences and luxuries that, too often,
we have lost sight of those basic human values of humility, sympathy, and love,
to which a life of simplicity can give witness. We would like to attempt to
learn more from people who, we believe, despite their hardship and deprivation,
have much to teach us.
Brothers
and sisters continued requesting from us dua’as, especially for the loved ones
who departed from them. This is sad news for those who
were close to them. Nabiy Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Waalihi Wasalam)
said,“said in regard to a Muslim’s treatment of a fellow Muslim,“When he
dies he should attend his funeral and pray for him, and after his death should
only talk good of him.” The Glorious Qur'an says,“Every soul shall taste of
death; Then unto Us (only) ye shall (all) be returned.” 29:57 The KCIK and the
editors of AL-KUFA Newsletter send their deepest and most sincere heartfelt
condolences, to their families, relatives and friends. May Allah (Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala), for sake of His chosen one, give them patience, courage, and strength
to accept His Will. The Glorious Qur'an says,“But those who believe and work
deeds of righteousness – to them shall We give a home in heaven, - lofty
mansions beneath which flow rivers, - to dwell therein for aye; an excellent
reward for those who do (good)! “ 29:57-8 We pray to Allah (Subhanahu Wa
Ta'Ala) to comfort the deep sorrow for their families, relatives, and friends.
O' Lord, let me not forget to remember them after my ritual prayers, and forgive
them through my supplication,, Ameen. May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'Ala) bless
their departed soul, shroud them with mercy and forgiveness, and grant them
company with the righteous, and appoint for them one of the gardens of Paradise,
and rest their soul in peace, and join their soul with that of the true
believers. The Glorious Qur'an says,“And join me with the righteous.” We ask
our readers to read Surah Fateha (The Opening the Glorious Qur'an) and pray for
them and their families. Jazakum Allahu Khairan. The Glorious Qur'an says,“Who
when, misfortune befalleth them, say, to Allah we belong and to Him is our
return.” 2:156 O’ Lord, Let It Be One Of Thy Gates To Thy Forgiveness And
One Of The Keys To Thy Mercy And Let Them Abide In Thy Paradise, Ameen.

every effort to help us in this regard (our existing copier that was donated has
broken). O' Lord, record our good deeds and leave us delighted with what they
have written down concerning them (good deeds), Ameen. The Glorious Qur'an
says,“And Allah gave them the reward in this world and the excellent reward of
the hereafter. Verily Allah loveth those who do good (to others). Whoever
intercedeth with a good intercession shall have a share therefrom.” 3:147
& 4:85. Jazakum Allah Khair (May
