“Soon Will We Show Them Our Signs In The Horizons (Of The World), And In Their Own Selves Until It Becometh Manifest Unto Then That He Is The Truth” 41:53
The Eid Al-Adha, the festival of sacrifice, a commemoration of Nabiy Ibrahim (Alayhi AlSalam) 's willingness to sacrifice his own son Nabiy Ismail (Alayhi AlSalam) at Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala)'s command, occurs during the highly respected month of Thul Al Hijjah. Thul Al Hijjah is the last (twelfth) month of the Islamic Calendar.
Ten days following the confirmation of the sighting of the new moon (Hilal), the crescent of the month of Thul Al Hijjah, Muslims all around the world celebrate the Holy Eid. This year, it is expected to begin on Sunday, March 28th, 1999, Insha’Allah. Eid prayers will be held at KCIK 9:00 a.m. Breakfast will be served after the Eid prayers. It is also customary on this occasion to meet relatives, have family get togethers, and to give gifts to the members of the family, especially to children. If you have any questions, about Eid prayers, and the Eid Festival, please contact KCIK. We look Forward To Seeing You There, Insha'Allah.
KCIK and the editors of the AL-KUFA Newsletter express their sincere best wishes with their heartiest felicitation to all Muslims around the world for the day of Eid Al-Adha Al-Mubarak. We pray Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) to help us all obey and fear Him, and we pray for the acceptance of the Hajj performed by all Muslims, and for Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) to facilitate it. Surely, and Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) is the Facilitator and Guide to the right Path, Ameen. O' Lord, this is a blessed day and Muslims are therein gathering in regions of Thy earth; such of them as have a request, those that seek after anything those that love anything, and those who fear are all present, and Thou art attending to their wants. Therefore, I beg Thee, on account of Thy Bounty and Generosity, and my requesting easy for Thee to grant. O Allah, bless whose who perform purse their duties toward You, and gift all Muslims on the day of Eid which Thou hast ordained to be a festival and a day of joy, of gathering, and of congregation for the people of Thy creed, Ameen.
Fear Allah in matters concerning orphans
By the grace of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala), the Kufa Center of Islamic
Knowledge (KCIK) and AL-KUFA Newsletter editors are dedicated to serve
Islam, Muslims and the community, and for this reason, we are pleased to
announce the following service. We would like to assist by bringing attention
to the needs of orphans or children. We expect this service to be used
according to proper Islamic law, and all Muslims are welcome to contact
KCIK if they have any information regarding needy children/orphans, or
if they wish to provide assistance to orphans. There is no better way to
serve the will of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) and the whole of mankind.
The Glorious Qur'an says: “Nay! rather ye honour not the orphans, nor urge
ye one another to feed the poor! And (serve) parents and the near of kin
and the orphans and the needy, and speak kindly unto all men. And when
at the distribution (of inheritance) are present those near of kin and
orphans and the needy, provide them also with (something) from it, and
speak to them of kind words” (89:17-18; 2:83; and 4:8).
Today, there are many orphans/children who are facing hardships that challenge their very survival. We can support these programs individually or as groups of families and/or individuals, to make it easier to become a sponsor. Also, there are Muslim families who experience difficulties that can lead to the removal of children from their home. In such cases there is a need for Muslim families to be available for the placement of Muslim children who are removed from the home. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent for Muslim children please contact the Department of Social Services (DSS) in your area and/or the KCIK to express your desire. The names of any interested individuals who respond to AL-KUFA Newsletter will be forwarded to the DSS. To become a foster parent it will be necessary to complete an application, provide references, and submit to a background investigation. The DSS will provide money – monthly stipend for the care of foster children.
A childless Muslim couple wishes to sponsor and support an orphan/child. It is highly rewarding for them in terms of happiness in this life, and Insha’Allah, will also be a source of grace from Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) on the Day of Judgment. This couple contacted KCIK, and are awaiting your assistance to become a sponsor, and are grateful for your help.
KCIK, and the AL-KUFA Newsletter editors, are happy to serve those who would like to find an orphan/child through the AL-KUFA Newsletter publications. Our services are free of charge; you may help support this service or our programs with your kind contributions and may Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) reward the charitable. The administration and/or staff of KCIK, or the Editors of the AL-KUFA Newsletter are not liable in any way for any problems resulting from correspondence stemming from these advertisements. Please refer to our previous publications of AL-KUFA Newsletter, Vol. 3, and Nos. 2, 5, and 10, 1997 for the subject of "Matrimonial". The Kufa Center of Islamic Knowledge (KCIK) and AL-KUFA Newsletter editors are dedicated to serve Islam, Muslims and the community and for this reason, we offer this matrimonial service. It is designed to assist Muslims in locating desired qualities and characteristics in a mate. We expect this service to be used according to proper Islamic law, and all Muslims are welcome to register. There is no better way to serve the will of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) and the whole of mankind.
The relation between a man and a woman becomes lawful via the contract of marriage. There are several verses throughout the Glorious Qur'an and sayings in the traditions of Nabiy Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Waalihi Wasalam) regarding marriage and family values. Muslims are strongly encouraged to be married. Marriage must be based on Islamic principles. In marrying, it is essential to make a sufficient investigation about a prospective husband or wife to ensure that he/she is fit in every respect to conclude a strong and lasting contract.
KCIK, the AL-KUFA Newsletter editors are happy to serve those who would like to find a suitable mate through AL-KUFA Newsletter publications. The marriage services are free of charge; you may help support this service or our programs with your kind contributions and may Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) reward the charitable. Below, we provide some relevant calls for spouses.

So, please share with us a fair contribution for this newsletter to enable it to continue. In addition, we receive a large number of requests for the AL-KUFA Newsletter. We included the previous issues of the AL-KUFA Newsletter with our parcel to prison libraries. Those in any prison who haven’t received their packages including a copy of the Glorious Qur’an, please request your chaplain and/or any representative of that facility to contact the center, and Insha’Allah, we will be able to send it. Also, as part of Dawah program, brothers and sisters who would like to have someone visit them and/or call them on through the telephone for about 20 minutes to talk about Islam, please request the chaplain/officer of that institution to contact the KCIK. We can arrange for people to call specific individuals, or to call a group of Muslims over a speaker phone, at an appointed time to provide lessons or answer questions on Islam, Insha’Allah.
In addition, it is our responsibility to bring to your attention, our dear readers, that we are in desperate need for a place to teach and in need of resources {Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh, and other Islamic books}. Islamic newsletters, Bulletin of Affiliation, Islamic magazines, newspapers and other Islamic materials were received from many Islamic institutions.
For the pleasure of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala), we therefore request you to assist us financially or materially in all of our programs. We particularly request you to bring this plea to the attention of your community, and encourage them to donate their Islamic charities to this cause. Jazakum Allah Khair (MAY ALLAH REWARD YOU WITH GOODNESS).
Hajj is one of the obligatory religious pillars in Islam. Every adult, man or woman, is to perform Hajj once in a lifetime, if health and material well being permit. Hajj is also a manifestation of brotherhood, and humility. Everyone is considered equal, regardless of whether that Muslim is a man or a woman, young or old, black or white. No discrimination on the basis of race, sex, or social status is made and everyone is free to face Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala), and the only difference between one and another is on the basis of piety, which is known only to our Creator. There is no rank or privilege in this Holy Place because we are without rank before Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala).
AL-KUFA Newsletter has published articles related to Hajj, Eid Al-Adh'ha Al-Mubarak, Eid Al-Adh'ha Prayer, the significance of Hajj and the Hajj Experience. Please also refer to Vol. 1, Nos. 6, 7, 9, 10, 11,12, 1995, respectively; Vol. 2, Nos. 3 (March), 5, 6 &7, 1996, respectively; Vol. 3, Nos.5, 1997; Vol. 4, Nos.4, 5 & 6, 1998, respectively. These publications can be sent to you upon request. Please also send a self-addressed envelope for the same. O’ Lord accept our prayers, Ameen. The Glorious Qur'an says: “Our Lord! Indeed, we have heard one calling to the faith (saying): ‘Believe in your Lord.’ then we believed. So, our Lord, forgive us our sins, and expiate from us our evil deeds, and unite us with the righteous people.” 3:193, Ameen.
O' Lord, grant the Hajji (men) or Hajjah (women) a safe and successful Hajj. O’ Lord, bring us to gather and let us understand each other, care for each other, prevent each other from harm, and especially tend to the very young and the very old. O’ Lord accept our prayers, Ameen.
Nabiy Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Waalihi Wasalam) said: “O' people! the Shaitan has despaired from being ever worshipped, but he settled to be obeyed in all other deeds that you belittle. So beware of him.”
While putting on the Ihram, the pilgrim should say the intention in response to the call of the Lord issued through Nabiy Ibrahim (Alayhi AlSalam), declaring the Takbeer (calls):
"Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk (Yes, here I am 'O Lord, here I am)."
"Labbayk La Shareeka Laka Labbayk (Yes, here I am 'O Lord, there is
no partner for thee, here I am)."
"Inna-Alhamda Wan-N'Imata Laka (Verily, the Praise and the bounties
are Thine and the Domimon)."
"Lake Wal Mulk, La Shareeka Lak (And the Dominion is Thine, and
there is no partner unto Thee!).
O' Lord, grant the Pilgrims a safe and successful Hajj for all Muslims and help us to perform our duties as true believers, Ameen. Our best wishes to all Muslims on this joyous occasion, happiness and blessing of the Eid Al-Adh'ha AL-Mubarak.
